How to request deletion
- Email support@hauzpay.africa with the subject “HauzPay account and data deletion”.
- Provide your name and the email address or phone number linked to your HauzPay account. State whether you want your account and associated data deleted, or are requesting deletion of specific information.
- We will verify account ownership and explain any outstanding transactions, business responsibilities or required record retention before processing the request. If you cannot access your registered contact method, tell support so it can arrange verification.
Never send your password, PIN, one-time code or full financial credentials by email. You can also contact support on +254 720 114 111 for help with your request.
What happens to your data
Following verification, we delete or anonymize personal account information and uploaded content that is no longer needed. We will confirm the outcome. Deleting access alone is not treated as completion of a data-deletion request.
Records that may need to remain
Payment records, receipts, verification records and audit information may need to be retained for accounting, payment reconciliation, legal obligations, fraud prevention or unresolved disputes. We restrict use of retained information to the applicable purpose and retain it only while that reason applies. We will explain the relevant records and retention requirements when handling your request. Backups may retain residual copies until their backup cycle expires.
If you act for a business, deleting your personal account does not automatically delete the business or other members' accounts, or erase transaction records that the business or payment providers are independently required to retain.
Timing and updates
Processing time depends on identity verification, the request's scope and any outstanding transaction or legal requirements. Support will provide status and timing information for your request and confirm when it is completed. Email support if you need an update.
